Village Housing Forum

The Village is organizing a Housing Forum on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, starting at 7:00 PM. The event will take place at the Harmon Firehouse located at 30 Wayne Street. This forum aims to foster a broader discussion on the current state and future of housing within the Village, building on the 2018 Housing Charette and the 2021 Housing Needs Assessment Forum. Notable participants include representatives from the Westchester County Planning Board, Pace Land Use Law Center, Village Housing Task Force, and Village Board. The evening will feature an overview of local housing initiatives and a breakout group discussion period, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage in focused conversations related to the main topics of discussion.


Weekly Art Workshops at Croton Free Library

Join artist Aindrila Mukherjee to create beautiful projects with acrylic paint! Topics will include mandala design, Indian folk art, one-stroke painting techniques, and bird and flower painting. All supplies provided. No experience necessary. Free and open to anyone age 12+! This series meets every Thursday in May, but participants do not need to be able to attend every session. Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast

The Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce is hosting their monthly Networking Breakfast Event on Friday, May 3rd, 2024 at the Croton Yacht Club. I Love My Park Day Croton

Join the Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct and the Village of Croton-on-Hudson for I Love My Park Day on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:00 am.  There will be something for everyone: family friendly invasive Garlic mustard pulling for parents and children and a variety of other invasive plant management work including removing prickly Barberry bushes, and vine removal using a pole pruner to save the trees on the trail. Also learn from a stone mason how to build stone walls. No experience necessary; all tools provided. Register as a volunteer at the following link: www.aqueduct.org/ILMPD 


CrotonCon 2024

Organized by the Croton 125th Committee in collaboration with 3rd Universe, CrotonCon 24 is a comicon-inspired event that will feature video games, free comics, a virtual Lego contest, entertainment, and vendors. Test your skills at Smash Brothers, challenge our local police and your friends to a board game, Virtual Lego building contest, sidewalk chalk coloring, music, comedy and cosplay, come dressed to impress! Croton Yacht Club Annual College Scholarship Fundraiser

The Croton Yacht Club is holding its annual College Scholarship fundraiser on Saturday, May 4th. The event will include an all you can eat pasta night, with various pasta dishes, salad, coffee and dessert. A silent auction and sales will be conducted during the evening as well as a 50-50 fund raising raffle. A donation of $25 for adults, $15 for teens is requested; children 12 and under are free. All net proceeds will go to the Croton Yacht Club College Scholarship Fund. Since its inception in 2010, the Yacht Club has awarded over $20,000 in scholarship grants to Croton Harmon High School graduates pursuing undergraduate studies in the marine, maritime, environmental science and/or environmental engineering fields. Free Rabies Vaccinations for Westchester Pets

Westchester County residents can bring their dogs, cats and ferrets in for free rabies vaccinations on Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stamen Animal Hospital, 61 Quaker Ridge Road, New Rochelle.  No appointments are needed, but residents are advised to bring proof of prior rabies vaccinations for their pets. The Big Easy On The Hudson Jazz & Blues Fest

The Croton Business Council (CBC) will host 'The Big Easy on the Hudson', a day filled with live Jazz & Blues, Artisanal Food, Beverage and Retail vendors, and family fun, at Vassallo Park. Attendance is free. No outside alcohol will be permitted in the festival area. A free shuttle will be operating from the Croton-Harmon Train Station to the Upper Village throughout the day. The Grit Games - Family Fun

Race, swing and move through obstacle courses at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson, and compete in the first ever Grit Ninja Games, presented by The Grit Ninja, Saturday, May 18. Children and young adults ages nine and up can compete in various tournaments in divisions based on age. Celebrity ninjas from American Ninja Warrior and American Ninja Warrior Jr. including Daniel Gil, Vance Walker, Isaiah Thomas, and Isabella Wakeham will be available for meet and greets. The entire day will be fun for the whole family as there will be local food trucks, beginner ninja obstacles suitable for all ages, raffles, and a professional ninja racing competition for everyone to watch. Memorial Day Ceremony

The Village's annual Memorial Day Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Hosted by The American Legion Fox - Eklof Post 505, under the leadership of William Tuttle, Commander, and Joseph Martinelli, Adjutant, the event will take place at Veterans Corners, 173-179 Cleveland Drive. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be relocated to the Gym of the Holy Name of Mary Church, 120 Grand St.

Summerfest Parade Registration Open

 

Join the 2024 Summerfest parade, scheduled for Sunday, June 2 at 12:45 PM. Parade participants gather on Old Post Road South between the exit of Croton Harmon High School and Cleveland Drive at 12:15 – parade kicks off at 12:45. We are looking for community groups & organizations to bring their best creative ideas to the parade.
